PROTHEUS is a simulation suite consisting of modern, fast and efficient tools to handle complex real world problems like antenna positioning on electrically large platforms, Radar Cross Section (RCS) prediction of complex targets, and solution of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tasks. ![]() The most prominent PROTHEUS tool is the Multilevel Fast Multipole Algorithm (MLFMA) which will be offered as the first module. The PROTHEUS implementation of this method solves EM problems with the accuracy of the well known Method of Moments (MoM), with a never seen performance and an unprecedenced low requirement of ressources. Problems with nearly 800.000 unknowns can even be solved in core on a standard desktop PC with 2GBytes of memory. For even larger and more demanding tasks, an MPI-parallelized version allows the solution of up to several millions of unknowns on low-cost PC clusters. As the second PROTHEUS-module, a fast Physical Optics (PO) module will be released. PROTHEUS comes with an easy handling GUI including a mesh editor, self explaining input form and a postprocessing tool. Release of the first version: 1.quarter 2006. |
